The Intrepid class Starship USS Rainmaker. The setting is 2385 which is not long after the Nemesis. We are a ship assigned to to Starfleet Corps of Engineers (SCE) Division of Starfleet. Attached to Starbase Haven

As with the US Military of the 20th century, there has always been a Corps of Engineers a group who builds bridges, fixes machines, and solves engineering problems. In Star Trek, this group solves engineering problems in space that are too complicated, or take too much time, for a larger starship crew to handle. We are the Space equivalent of the US Navy Seabees.
